And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far, far is that which you are threatened with. 36 "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 A blast struck them for a just cause, and We made them look like withered leaves. God keeps the unjust people away from His mercy. 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation can go before its term ends nor stay back. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are for us in servitude?" 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
