And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ Far, far is that which you are threatened with. 36 There exists only our present life: we die and we live [but once], and shall never be raised up again. 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 The messenger said, "My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me." 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 We then sent our Noble Messengers, one after another; whenever a nation’s Noble Messenger came to it they denied him, We therefore united the succeeding with the old, and made them history; so far removed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
