But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, you shall be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ How far, how far, is that which you are promised. 36 There is no other life than the life of the world. We shall live here and here shall we die; and we are not going to be raised again. 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 [And God] would say: "After a little while they will surely be smitten with remorse!" 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)." 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
