The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
