And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 If ye were to obey a mortal like yourselves, then, lo! ye surely would be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 He is not but a man who has invented a lie about Allah, and we will not believe him." 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
