The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people. 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 to Pharaoh and his courtiers, but they behaved insolently, for they were an arrogant people. 46 and they said, 'What, shall we believe two mortals like ourselves, whose people are our servants?' 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
