And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is only a man who invents lies against God, so have no faith in him". 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
