“O Noble Messengers, eat good clean things, and do good deeds; I know all that you do.” 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 But when We will strike with torment those (unbelievers) who are rich, they will start to cry for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ Though We had mercy on them and relieved them of the harm afflicting them, they still would wander blindly on in their contumacy. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
