'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 "Put a stop to your groaning now! Surely no help shall be provided to you from Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say that there is madness in him? Nay, he has brought them the Truth and it is the Truth that most of them disdain. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 And certainly, you (O Muhammad SAW) call them to a Straight Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
