O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And surely this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, therefore be careful (of your duty) to Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
