I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 But when We will strike with torment those (unbelievers) who are rich, they will start to cry for help. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
