O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My signs were recited to you, but upon your heels you withdrew, 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
