O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
