1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 But when We will strike with torment those (unbelievers) who are rich, they will start to cry for help. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
