Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their bewilderment for a while. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My communications were indeed recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels, 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And if the Truth had followed their desires, verily the heavens and the earth and whosoever is therein had been corrupted. Nay, We have brought them their Reminder, but from their Reminder they now turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
