O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
