O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Indeed those who are overwhelmed due to the fear of their Lord – 57 And those who believe in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are covered (blind) from understanding this (the Quran), and they have other (evil) deeds, besides, which they are doing. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
