O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave thou them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Our revelations had certainly been recited to you, but you turned your backs to them 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
