O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 We struck them with torment, but they did not submit themselves to their Lord, nor did they make themselves humble 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
