1/2 Hizb 35
< random >
I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. 52 Yet they have split their affairs between themselves into sects, each rejoicing in what it has. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily, thou callest them onto a straight way 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
