O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say that there is madness in him? Nay, he has brought them the Truth and it is the Truth that most of them disdain. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
