Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 And most surely We are well able to make you see what We threaten them with. 95 Repel evil with what is best, We are well aware of the things they say, 96 And pray: "My Lord! I seek Your refuge from the suggestions of the evil ones; 97 I even seek Your refuge, my Lord, lest they should approach me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 that I should do righteousness in that I forsook' No! It is only a word which he will speak. Behind them there shall stand a barrier till the Day that they shall be resurrected. 100 There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 But those whose scales are lighter will perish and abide in Hell for ever. 103 The Fire will burn their faces, and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced. 104 Have not My revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying? 105 They will say, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate overcame us, and we were the astray people.” 106 "Our Lord! Bring us out of this; if ever we return (to evil), then indeed we shall be Zalimun: (polytheists, oppressors, unjust, and wrong-doers, etc.)." 107 'Slink you into it,' He shall say, 'and do not speak to Me. 108 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! 109 "But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them! 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 He will say, “How long did you stay on earth, counting by the number of years? 112 They will say: We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep account. 113 He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew. 114 What, did you think that We created you only for sport, and that you would not be returned to Us?' 115 Then high exalted be God, the King, the True! There is no god but He? the Lord of the noble Throne. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 Hence, [O believer,] say: "O my Sustainer! Grant [me] forgiveness and bestow Thy mercy [upon me]: for Thou art the truest bestower of mercy!" 118
