Say: "O Lord, if I am made to see what has been promised them, 93 O my Lord, do not put me among the harmdoing people' 94 And indeed We are Able to show you the promise they are given. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter. 96 And say: "My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). 97 and I take refuge in Thee, O my Lord, lest they attend me.' 98 [For such is the state of the disbelievers], until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back 99 so that I might act righteously in whatever I have failed [aforetime]!" Nay, it is indeed but a [meaningless] word that he utters: for behind those [who leave the world] there is a barrier [of death] until the Day when all will be raised from the dead! 100 There will be no kindred relations nor any opportunity to ask about others or seek their assistance after the trumpet has sounded. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 and those whose scales are light, those will be the ones who will have courted loss. They will abide in Hell. 103 The Fire will burn their faces, and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced. 104 Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them. 105 They will say: "O Lord, our misery overwhelmed us, so we remained a people astray. 106 Our Lord, bring us forth out of it! Then, if we revert, we shall be evildoers indeed.' 107 'Slink you into it,' He shall say, 'and do not speak to Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you ridiculed them. So much so that out of (spite) for them you forgot to remember Me and laughed at them. 110 Now today I have recompensed them for their patient endurance; they are the triumphant.' 111 They will be asked: "How long did you live on the earth in terms of years?" 112 They will say, “We stayed a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count.” 113 He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew. 114 Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?" 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion. 116 He who crieth unto any other god along with Allah hath no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Lo! disbelievers will not be successful. 117 And say: O my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 118
