The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Quran) to His slave (Muhammad SAW) that he may be a warner to the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 1 He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and has created each thing and determined it with [precise] determination. 2 But they have taken besides Him gods which create nothing, while they are created, and possess not for themselves any harm or benefit and possess not [power to cause] death or life or resurrection. 3 Moreover, those who are bent on denying the truth are wont to say: "This [Qur'an] is nothing but a lie, which he [himself] has devised with the help of other people, who thereupon have perverted the truth and brought a falsehood into being." 4 And they say: Fables of the men of old which he hath had written down so that they are dictated to him morn and evening. 5 Say: 'It was sent down by Him who knows the secrets of heavens and earth. He is Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 Or why has not at least a treasure been sent down for him or a garden given to him for (easy) sustenance?" And the wicked people say, "You are following a man bewitched." 8 Behold, how they strike similitudes for thee, and go astray, and are unable to find a way! 9
