۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 The Day whereon they shall behold the angels on that day there will be no joy for the culprits, and they will say: away! away! 22 and We shall take all that they did and turn it into scattered dust. 23 Those who have earned the Garden on that day will be better in their home and happier in their place of noonday rest; 24 And on the day when the heaven shall burst asunder with the clouds, and the angels shall be sent down descending (in ranks). 25 The Sovereignty on that day will be the True (Sovereignty) belonging to the Beneficent One, and it will be a hard day for disbelievers. 26 And the day when the unjust one shall bite his hands saying: O! would that I had taken a way with the Apostle 27 O, woe to me! Would that I had not chosen so and so for a friend! 28 He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter." 29 And the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Quran (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and orders). 30 thus did We assign to every prophet an enemy from among the sinners; your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper. 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 And they come not unto thee with a similitude but We bring thee the truth and an excellent interpretation. 33 (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. 34
