۞ And those who do not expect to meet Us said, “Why were the angels not sent down to us or we been able to see our Lord?” Indeed they thought too highly of themselves and they turned extremely rebellious. 21 [Yet] on that Day - the Day on which they shall see the angels there will be no glad tiding for those who were lost in sin; and they will exclaim, "By a forbidding ban [are we from God's grace debarred]!" 22 We shall turn to their deeds and scatter them like particles of dust. 23 The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place. 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 “Woe to me – alas, if only I had not taken that one for a friend.” 28 He verily led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. Satan was ever man's deserter in the hour of need. 29 The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it' 30 And this is how We had appointed guilty people as enemies to every Prophet; and Allah is Sufficient, to guide and to aid. 31 The disbelievers say, "Why has not the entire Qur'an been sent down to this man all at once?" -Well, this has been done to impress it deeply on your mind, and (for the same object) We have sent it down piecemeal by degrees. 32 And (there is another wisdom in this: whenever they brought to you an odd thing (or a strange question), We sent its right answer to you in time and explained it all in the best manner, 33 Those who will be dragged on their faces towards hell – theirs is the worst destination and they are the most astray. 34
