Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ Those who do not hope to meet Us say: "Why are no angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" They are full of self-conceit and behave with intense arrogance. 21 On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! 22 for We shall have turned towards all the [supposedly good] deeds they ever wrought, and shall have transformed them into scattered dust 23 The inhabitants of the Garden will have the best residence and the finest lodging on that Day. 24 A day when the heaven with the clouds will be rent asunder and the angels will be sent down, a grand descent. 25 on that Day [it will become obvious to all that] true sovereignty belongs to the Most Gracious [alone]: hence, a Day of distress will it be for all who deny the truth, 26 On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)! 27 Alas, would that I had not taken So-and-so for a friend! 28 Assuredly he misled me from the admonition after it had come unto me. Verily the Satan is ever unto man a betrayer. 29 And the Apostle will say: my Lord! verily my people took this Qur'an as a thing to be shunned. 30 Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 And no question do they bring to thee but We reveal to thee the truth and the best explanation (thereof). 33 those who are going to be driven to Hell upon their faces, have taken an utterly wrong stand and their way is most erroneous! 34

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
