۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 The Day, when they will see the angels, will not be a day of rejoicing for the criminals; they will cry out, "May Allah save us!" 22 and We shall take all that they did and turn it into scattered dust. 23 Fellows of the Garden shall be on that Day in a goodly abode and a goodly repose. 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers. 26 The Day that the wrong-doer will bite at his hands, he will say, "Oh! would that I had taken a (straight) path with the Messenger! 27 Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. 28 He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter." 29 The Messenger says: 'O my Lord, my people have taken this Koran while deserting it' 30 Even so have We appointed unto every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but Allah sufficeth for a Guide and Helper. 31 The disbelievers say, "Why has not the entire Qur'an been sent down to this man all at once?" -Well, this has been done to impress it deeply on your mind, and (for the same object) We have sent it down piecemeal by degrees. 32 They bring not to thee any similitude but that We bring thee the truth, and better in exposition. 33 (As for) those who shall be gathered upon their faces to hell, they are in a worse plight and straying farther away from the path. 34
