۞ Those people, who have no fear of coming before Us, say, "Why should not the angels be sent down to us? Or else we should see our Lord. " Great arrogance have they assumed in regard to themselves, and have transgressed all limits in their rebellion. 21 On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited. 22 and We shall take all that they did and turn it into scattered dust. 23 The inhabitants of Paradise that day, better shall be their lodging, fairer their resting-place. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day. 26 The sinner will then bite his hand and say: "Would that I had taken the road with the Prophet. 27 O woe is me! would that I had not taken such a one for a friend! 28 he made me forgetful of the warning after it had reached me. Satan is man's great betrayer." 29 The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," 30 Thus, from the sinful people We made enemies for every Prophet. Your Lord is a Sufficient Guide and Helper. 31 And the disbelievers say, “Why was the Qur’an not sent down to him all at once?” This is how We sent it in stages, in order to strengthen your heart with it and We read it slowly, in stages. 32 And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. 33 Those who will be driven headlong into hell will have a terrible dwelling; they have certainly gone astray. 34
