We verily gave Moses the Scripture and placed with him his brother Aaron as henchman. 35 We told them, "Both of you go to the people who have rejected Our revelations." We completely destroyed these unbelievers. 36 And the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment. 37 to 'Ad, and Thamud, and the people of al-Rass, and as We did for the many a generation between them. 38 To each of them We gave warnings and each of them We destroyed completely. 39 And the (Unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection. 40 (Muhammad), when they see you, they will only mock you and say, "Has God really sent him as a Messengers? 41 Indeed, he would well-nigh have led us astray from our deities, had we not been [so] steadfastly attached to them!" But in time, when they see the suffering [that awaits them,] they will come to know who it was that went farthest astray from the path [of truth]! 42 Hast thou observed him who hath taken as his god his own desire! wilt thou be over him a trustee? 43 Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are no better than cattle; in fact they are farther astray from the path. 44
