Do you not see how your Lord stretches the shadow? Had it been His will, He could have made it constant. Then He appointed the sun to be a guide to it; 45 Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp. 46 And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again. 47 And it is He, Who drives the winds to be the harbingers of His mercy: then He sends down pure water from the sky 48 In order that We may revive a dead city with it, and give it to the many beasts and men that We have created, to drink. 49 We have indeed turned it about amongst them, so that they may remember; yet most men refuse all but unbelief. 50 Now had We so willed, We could have [continued as before and] raised up a [separate] warner in every single community: 51 So do not listen to the disbelievers and, with this Qur’an, fight a great war against them. 52 ۞ And He it is Who has made two seas to flow freely, the one sweet that subdues thirst by its sweetness, and the other salt that burns by its saltness; and between the two He has made a barrier and inviolable obstruction. 53 And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation]. 54 Yet they worship instead of Allah that which can neither benefit them nor hurt them. The disbeliever was ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) only as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. 56 Say, "I do not ask of you for it any payment - only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way." 57 Have trust in God the Living, who will never die, and sing His hallelujas; for He is well aware of the sins of His creatures. 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware. 59 When it is said to them. "Prostrate yourselves before the Merciful," they retort, "What is the Merciful? Would you have us prostrate ourselves before whomsoever you will?" And this invitation only helps to increase their hatred all the more. ۩ 60
