Have you not considered (the work of) your Lord, how He extends the shade? And if He had pleased He would certainly have made it stationary; then We have made the sun an indication of it 45 We then gradually withdraw it towards Us. 46 It is He who has made the night as a covering for you, sleep as a rest for you, and the day for you to rise again. 47 And He it is Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His mercy, and We send down pure water from the sky,- 48 so that We may bring dead land to life thereby, and give to drink thereof to many [beings] of Our creation, beasts as well as humans. 49 We send them rain from time to time so that they may take heed. Many people have responded, but ungratefully. 50 Had it been Our will, We could have raised a warner in every village. 51 hence, do not defer to [the likes and dislikes of] those who deny the truth, but strive hard against them, by means of this [divine writ,] with utmost striving. 52 ۞ And it is He, Who has let loose the two seas, one palatable and sweet, the other bitter and saltish, and there is a partition between them, which is an insurmountable barrier. 53 And it is He who hath created man from water, and then made for him kinship by blood and marriage. He is the Beneficent God. Refer to Him as the final authority. 59 When it is said to them. "Prostrate yourselves before the Merciful," they retort, "What is the Merciful?
