Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens out the shadow? Had He willed, He would have made it constant, but We have made the sun its pilot; 45 Then We withdraw it unto Us, a gradual withdrawal? 46 It is He who made the night a covering for you; and made sleep for rest, the day for rising. 47 And it is He who has loosed the winds, bearing good tidings before His mercy; and We sent down from heaven pure water 48 to revive the barren land and provide water for many creatures, cattle, and people. 49 And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief. 50 If We had willed, We would have raised up in every city a warner. 51 So, O Prophet, do not yield to the disbelievers, but wage a Jihad against them with this Qur'an. 52 ۞ It was He who let forth the two seas, this one is palatably sweet and this salt, a bitter taste, and He set a barrier between them, and a refuge which is forbidden. 53 And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation]. 54 And yet they worship besides God what cannot bring them gain or do them harm. The unbeliever has always been an auxiliary against his Lord. 55 We have sent you only as a bearer of glad tidings and as a warner. 56 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (that which I have brought from my Lord and its preaching, etc.), save that whosoever wills, may take a Path to his Lord. 57 And trust the Living One Who will never die, and praising Him proclaim His Purity; and He is Sufficient upon the sins of His bondmen, All Aware. 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware. 59 When it is said to them. "Prostrate yourselves before the Merciful," they retort, "What is the Merciful? Would you have us prostrate ourselves before whomsoever you will?" And this invitation only helps to increase their hatred all the more. ۩ 60
