Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow. If He willed, He could have made it still then We have made the sun its guide [i.e. after the sunrise, it (the shadow) squeezes and vanishes at midnoon and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sun light, there would have been no shadow]. 45 Then We draw it in towards Ourselves,- a contraction by easy stages. 46 And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) repose, and makes the day Nushur (i.e. getting up and going about here and there for daily work, etc. after one's sleep at night or like resurrection after one's death). 47 And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky, 48 so that We may bring dead land to life thereby, and give to drink thereof to many [beings] of Our creation, beasts as well as humans. 49 And certainly We have repeated this to them that they may be mindful, but the greater number of men do not consent to aught except denying. 50 And if We had willed, We would have raised up in each town a warner. 51 hence, do not defer to [the likes and dislikes of] those who deny the truth, but strive hard against them, by means of this [divine writ,] with utmost striving. 52 ۞ And it is He, Who has let loose the two seas, one palatable and sweet, the other bitter and saltish, and there is a partition between them, which is an insurmountable barrier. 53 It is He who created man from water, then gave him consanguinity and affinity. Your Lord is omnipotent. 54 And they serve, apart from God, what neither profits them nor hurts them; and the unbeliever is ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) only as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner. 56 Say: 'I do not ask of you a wage for this, except for him who wishes to take to his Lord a way.' 57 And trust the Living One Who will never die, and praising Him proclaim His Purity; and He is Sufficient upon the sins of His bondmen, All Aware. 58 He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between, in six days, and is firmly established on the Throne (of Authority): Allah Most Gracious: ask thou, then, about Him of any acquainted (with such things). 59 When they are told to prostrate themselves before the Beneficent God, they say, "Who is the Beneficent God? Why should we prostrate ourselves before the one whom you have commanded us to?" This only increases their rebelliousness. ۩ 60
