Most Auspicious is He Who created lofty towers in the sky and placed a lamp in it, and the luminous moon. 61 And He it is who causes the night and the day to succeed one another, [revealing Himself in His works] unto him who has the will to take thought - that is has the will to be grateful. 62 The (faithful) slaves of the Beneficent are they who walk upon the earth modestly, and when the foolish ones address them answer: Peace; 63 Those who spend the night in adoration of their Lord prostrate and standing; 64 And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily! Its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment." 65 Indeed, it is an evil abode and evil dwelling-place." 66 They are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but keep a balance between the two; 67 And they who do not call upon another god with Allah and do not slay the soul, which Allah has forbidden except in the requirements of justice, and (who) do not commit fornication and he who does this shall find a requital of sin; 68 [but] shall have his suffering doubled on Resurrection Day: for on that [Day] he shall abide in ignominy. 69 except the one who may have repented (after those sins) and have believed and done righteous works, for then Allah will change his evil deeds into good deeds, and He is very Forgiving and Merciful. 70 and whosoever repents, and does righteousness, he truly turns to God in repentance. 71 And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. 72 and who, whenever they are reminded of their Sustainer's messages, do not throw themselves upon them [as if] deaf and blind; 73 and who pray "O our Sustainer! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to our eyes, and cause us to be foremost among those who are conscious of Thee!" 74 [Such as] these will be rewarded for all their patient endurance [in life] with a high station [in paradise,] and will be met therein with a greeting of welcome and peace, 75 And abide there for ever: What an excellent destination and abode! 76 Say thou: my Lord careth not for you were it not for your prayer; whereas ye have even belied, so presently this denial shall come as the cleaving punishment. 77
