Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon. 61 It is He who has made the night and day follow each other for those whom He desires to remember or He desires to be thankful. 62 The worshipers of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them say: 'Peace' 63 And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing, 64 And who say: Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell; lo! the doom thereof is anguish; 65 Indeed, it is an evil abode and evil dwelling-place." 66 who in their spending are neither extravagant nor stingy but maintain moderation, 67 Who do not invoke any god apart from God, who do not take a life which God has forbidden except for a cause that is just, and do not fornicate -- and any one who does so will be punished for the crime, 68 of sin-doubled shall be the chastisement for him on the Resurrection Day, and he shall dwell therein humbled, 69 Save him who repenteth and believeth and worketh righteous work. Then these! for them Allah shall change their vices into virtues. Verily Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 70 He who repents and does good works truly turns to Allah in repentance, 71 Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); 72 Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind; 73 who say, "Lord, grant us joy in our wives and children and make us a model for the righteous." 74 They will all receive Paradise as their reward for their forbearance and patience, where they will be greeted with, "Peace be with you." 75 And abide there for ever: What an excellent destination and abode! 76 Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent. 77
