The Poets (Alshu'araa')
227 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the Clear Book. 2 It may be that you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not believe. 3 Had We so willed, We could have sent down unto them a message from the skies, so that their necks would [be forced to] bow down before it in humility. 4 A fresh remembrance has never come to them from the Merciful, except they turn away from it. 5 thus, indeed, have they given the lie (to this message as well). But [in time] they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride! 6 Do they not look at the earth,- how many noble things of all kinds We have produced therein? 7 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them will not accept faith. 8 And verily, thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 9
