The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TaSeenMeem. 1 These are the verses of the perspicuous Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 We could send down from the heavens a sign to them if We pleased, before which their heads would remain bowed. 4 And never does a new advice come to them from the Most Gracious, but they turn away from it. 5 So they have surely belied; wherefore anon there shall come unto them the truth of that whereat they were wont to mock. 6 Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind? 7 Surely in this there is a sign, yet most of them would not believe: 8 truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 9
