And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: "O my Lord! I do fear that they will charge me with falsehood: 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 (The Pharaoh) said: "If you took another god apart from me I will have you incarcerated." 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
