And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 But the favour you oblige me with is that you have enslaved the children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
