And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: my Lord! verily I fear they shall belie me. 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
