And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
