And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
