(Recount to them about the time) when Your Lord called Moses: "Go to the wrong-doing people, 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
