And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 “And you committed the deed of yours that you committed, and you were ungrateful.” 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
