Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 The people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allah and become righteous?" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
