Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
