When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 and my chest will become constricted and my tongue will not be loosed (in my speech), therefore, send to Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
