When Your Lord told Moses to go to the unjust people of the Pharaoh 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And my breast straitens, and my tongue is not eloquent, therefore send Thou to Haroun (to help me); 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 Said He: "Not so, indeed! Go forth, then, both of you, with Our messages: verily, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]! 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
