And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
